2026 South Lafourche Biddy 8U Girls Invitational Tournament Recap

CUT OFF, LA — The future of girls basketball was on full display February 21–22 as South Lafourche Biddy Basketball hosted the 2026 8U Girls Invitational Tournament at the Cut Off Youth Center.
Six programs from across the region competed in a weekend filled with excitement, development, and outstanding sportsmanship:
South Lafourche
JPRD Westbank
JPRD Eastbank
Central Lafourche
Terrebonne
Thibodaux
Over two days, young athletes showcased skill, teamwork, and heart while competing in pool play followed by a championship bracket format.
Pool Play Results
Saturday’s games determined tournament seeding and featured several competitive matchups.
South Lafourche and Central Lafourche opened tournament play with a defensive battle, which Central won 6-5. Westbank finished atop Pool A standings, while Eastbank led Pool B following undefeated pool play performances.
Thibodaux and Terrebonne also delivered strong efforts throughout the opening round, setting up an exciting Championship Sunday bracket.
Championship Sunday
Sunday’s elimination games brought increased intensity as teams competed for hardware and bragging rights.
Thibodaux defeated Central Lafourche in an overtime thriller to open bracket play. Central led 12-2 to start the game.
Terrebonne advanced past South Lafourche.
Eastbank continued its impressive run with a victory over Thibodaux.
Westbank secured its place in the championship game after defeating Terrebonne.
In the 3rd Place Game, Terrebonne earned a 17-9 victory over Thibodaux to finish the tournament on a high note.

The weekend concluded with Eastbank and Westbank meeting for the tournament title.
Westbank controlled the tempo and executed down the stretch, earning a 14-9 win to claim the 2026 South Lafourche Biddy 8U Girls Invitational Championship.
