Three Tournaments, Dozens of Teams, and Championship Moments Highlight Action-Packed Event
LAROSE & CUT OFF, LA — South Lafourche Biddy Basketball transformed the bayou into one of Louisiana’s premier youth basketball destinations this past weekend, hosting three major tournaments simultaneously across the Larose Civic Center and Cut Off Youth Center.
With 34 games played, visiting programs from across the state competed in the 12U Boys Region II Tournament, 12U Girls Invitational, and their inaugural 14U Boys Invitational, creating a weekend filled with packed gyms, high energy crowds, and championship-level competition.
🏆 14U Boys Invitational Tournament Recap (Larose Civic Center & Cut Off Youth Center)
The first-ever SLBB hosted 14U Boys Invitational delivered intense competition from start to finish as five teams battled through pool play and bracket action.
Sunday’s bracket play shifted to the Larose Civic Center where elimination basketball took center stage. Raceland advanced with a convincing 56-35 win over South Lafourche, while Prairieville and NORD battled for positioning in the opposite bracket.
Ultimately, the championship came down to NORD vs. Slidell, a tightly contested matchup that showcased physical defense and clutch late-game execution. Slidell edged NORD 59-55 to capture the tournament title and close an impressive weekend performance.

🏆 12U Girls Invitational Tournament Recap (Cut Off Youth Center)
The 12U Girls Invitational featured six programs competing in fast-paced pool play before advancing into Sunday’s championship bracket.
South Lafourche started the weekend strong with dominant victories over St. Charles (40-7) and Eastbank (34-25), energizing the home crowd early. Westbank also impressed, highlighted by a decisive win over North Vermillion.

St. Bernard defeated St. Charles to advance.
South Lafourche earned a quarterfinal victory over North Vermillion.
Westbank survived a close battle against South Lafourche to reach the championship game.
In the title matchup, West bank showcased balanced scoring and full-court defense, defeating Eastbank 36-21 to claim the tournament championship. St. Bernard secured third place with a win over South Lafourche.

🏆 12U Boys Region II Tournament Recap - (Nationals Qualifier Event)
The weekend’s largest event was the Biddy Basketball 12U Boys Region II Championship, serving as an official qualifying tournament for the upcoming National Tournament in Covington, LA
Programs including St. Charles, Raceland, Thibodaux, St. John, Terrebonne, Central Lafourche, and South Lafourche competed in a double-elimination format that stretched across three days of competition.
The bracket featured multiple elimination battles and comeback performances as teams fought to extend their seasons and secure postseason advancement. With every team earning qualification to nationals, the focus centered on regional pride and momentum heading into state competition.
The tournament showcased the depth of talent within the Region II district and reinforced the competitive tradition of Louisiana Biddy Basketball.
St Charles outlasted the field going unbeaten in the bracket and flexed their muscle by defeating Thibodaux in the championship game 65-24. Thibodaux took home the runner-up spot and Terrebonne captured 3rd place.
